From Classmates to Lifelong Friends
Meet Carson and Carlos—two incredible UCP alumni whose friendship and growth represent everything we believe in at UCP!
Carlos joined UCP in 2010 at just 18 months old, continuing through 4th grade and staying connected through Outpatient Medical Therapy services. Carson came to UCP in 2017 as a 3rd grader and remained through 8th grade.
They met in a 2nd/3rd grade combo class at our Downtown Beta Campus—and the rest is history. From classroom adventures to unforgettable SeaWorld field trips, their friendship was built on laughter and learning.
Carson’s Journey
Once a quiet kid with his hoodie up and head down, Carson found his voice through OT, PT, ST, and the support of the UCP team. Today, he’s entering 10th grade at Oviedo High and dreams of returning as a history teacher—just like his mentor, Mr. Loeffler!
Carlos’ Journey
A math lover with endless energy, Carlos now plays competitive basketball with Exclusive Hoops while entering 10th grade at Oak Ridge High. He continues to grow and lead on and off the court.
Full Circle Moments
This summer, Carson and Carlos returned to where it all began—volunteering at our Social Skills Camp at the BCA Campus. As mentors, they’re helping campers build confidence, make connections, and discover their voices.
In Their Own Words:
“Giving back to UCP feels right—this place helped me become who I am.”- Carlos
“I see myself in these kids. Volunteering shows them—and me—how far we can go.” - Carson
This is what UCP is all about: inclusion, empowerment, and community that lasts a lifetime. We’re SO proud of Carson and Carlos—and can’t wait to see what they do next!
