UCP of Central Florida is proud to celebrate one of our outstanding educators who truly goes the “extra yard” for students. During this year’s Cure Bowl in Orlando, the StaffDNA Cure Bowl and the College Football Playoff Foundation recognized local teachers through the Extra Yard for Teachers program, awarding $1,000 classroom grants to educators who make an extraordinary impact.

This year’s honoree, Makenna Siefke, serves as the Art Integration Teacher at UCP of Central Florida, working with students with and without disabilities from kindergarten through eighth grade at Bailes Community Academy. Through creativity and inclusion, Makenna uses art as a powerful tool to help students express themselves, build confidence, and form meaningful connections.
One of Makenna’s most special traditions is guiding her students in creating heartfelt holiday cards for Cure Bowl players each year. This project blends art, empathy, and community spirit, allowing students to share encouragement while learning the value of kindness and teamwork.
Makenna’s dedication, creativity, and passion for inclusive education truly embody the spirit of the Extra Yard for Teachers program. We are honored to recognize her and grateful for the lasting impact she makes every day at UCP of Central Florida.
