Irma J. Rosa-Cains, PT, DPT, is the Vice President of Clinical Therapy Practices and Site Coordinator for Clinical Education at UCP of Central Florida. 


With more than 35 years of experience in pediatric rehabilitation, she has been instrumental in expanding the agency’s therapy services from just three therapists to over ninety providers across eight campuses.


She earned her degree in physical therapy from the University of Puerto Rico's Medical Sciences Campus and her doctorate in physical therapy from the College of St. Scholastica. Dr. Rosa-Cains is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Florida Consortium of Clinical Educators. She is also part of the UCPA Early Detection & Intervention Collaborative, an exclusive collective of seven affiliates sponsored by the UCP Research Committee, devoted to the early detection of cerebral palsy.


Her leadership extends beyond UCP of Central Florida. She has served on the Advisory Committee for Advent Health University’s Doctorate Program in Physical Therapy, holds a clinical instructor certification, and is a graduate of the Leadership Osceola Program.


She collaborates closely with universities, including the University of Florida, Florida State University, Florida International University, and Florida A&M University. Through her efforts, UCP of Central Florida has established internship agreements with more than seventy educational institutions nationwide, making it one of the most respected academic pediatric clinical settings for students in speech, physical, and occupational therapy. Dr. Rosa-Cains’s career reflects a deep commitment to advancing pediatric rehabilitation, fostering academic partnerships, and ensuring that children receive the highest quality therapeutic interventions.
