Director of Curriculum & Instruction (Early Childhood)

Barbie Jones serves as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Early Childhood, at UCP of Central Florida.
In this role, she leads the development and implementation of research-based curriculum and instructional practices across UCP's early childhood programs.
Barbie collaborates closely with school leaders to strengthen instructional quality, supports teachers in refining their pedagogical approaches, and guides the development of strategies that enable educators to build meaningful partnerships with families. She is instrumental in advancing UCP's commitment to high-quality, inclusive early childhood education for students of all abilities.
She brings extensive experience in public education, where she served in teaching and leadership positions as well as an Early Childhood Education Liaison, developing and implementing a district-wide early childhood program that garnered state-level recognition and was subsequently replicated across multiple districts.
Barbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, complemented by graduate-level certification in School Principal Leadership and advanced coursework in Early Childhood Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
This extensive foundation in child development and early learning informs her commitment to advancing inclusive practices, supporting professional growth for educators, and fostering strong school-family connections. At UCP, she oversees programs that integrate individualized support and evidence-based curriculum to ensure every child reaches their full potential. Her work centers on three interconnected priorities: fostering student learning and growth, elevating instructional practice, and building robust school-family partnerships. This integrated approach removes barriers to participation, honors each child's capacity to excel, and creates learning experiences rich with purpose and connection.
