PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical Therapy focuses on preserving, developing, and/or restoring physical function in children. Physical therapists assess motor and mobility deficits that may impact a child’s functional participation at home, school, and in the community.
Some areas physical therapy providers treat in children include:
-
Range of motion
-
Strength
-
Muscle tone
-
Balance
-
Coordination
-
Motor planning, and ambulatory skills
Physical therapy providers also work closely with families to obtain necessary adaptive equipment, such as wheelchairs, standers, and activity chairs.
