Director of Family and Child Support Services

Dr. Wendy Thomson serves as the Director of Family and Child Support Services of UCP of Central Florida. She has served in the areas of mental health in the Central Florida area for over 30 years, focusing on early intervention and child development.
She holds an Ed.D. in Child and Youth Studies from Nova Southeastern University and is a Florida-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has worked in the areas of foster care, dependency, and delinquency/diversion programs within the Department of Juvenile Justice. She worked at Valencia College, developing mentoring opportunities for community members to engage with high school students. Her education and experience in all stages of youth development are reflected in the personal relationships she cultivates with the families she serves.
Dr. Thomson was awarded the Leadership Award by the Florida Network of Family Services and is a graduate of the Orange County Public School Leadership Class V. As a life-long Orlando resident, she is deeply committed to the community she calls home, and her values of safety, support, and acceptance are the foundation of her work.
