A Community of Support: Issac & Mathias' Story

Issac and Mathias are a pair of twin brothers who attend our UCP Seminole Campus. Both boys were diagnosed with autism when they first came to UCP in Pre-K. Their teachers describe them as kind, friendly, sweet, outgoing, and fun to be around; they bring a smile to everyone's face. For Issac and Mathias’s family, joining the UCP community started them on a journey filled with love, determination, and unwavering support. Out of the two, Issac is a visual learner; he has shown attentiveness to science and dramatic play while using his imagination.

One of the amazing aspects of our school is the commitment to providing services and therapies that go far beyond books and classrooms. We recognize that every child is unique and has their own path to follow. For the twins, these therapies have been life-changing. Because of therapy, the boys have become routine-oriented. They have great physical motor skills, including running, jumping, and walking, while avoiding objects during playground activities.

Because of UCP, Issac and Mathias now have a voice to communicate, the skills needed to navigate daily tasks, and confidence in their physical abilities. All of this, combined with the support from their dedicated teachers and therapists, has been the guiding light on their educational journey.

UCP is not just about therapies and services; it is about a community that understands the power of empathy and the value of every child's potential. It is about knowing that every step we take brings us closer to a world where every child, regardless of their abilities, can reach for the stars.
