Memories of summer camps last a lifetime, and that’s our goal at UCP of Central Florida. Our unique programs are designed for children and teenagers of all abilities, helping them create their own memories while learning and growing together.
Summer Programs for Younger Children
Summer VPK
UCP of Central Florida is now enrolling for a FREE, full-day summer Voluntary Pre-K program for children with and without disabilities who are entering kindergarten in Fall 2010. Summer VPK helps 4-year-old children develop skills they need that prepare them for a successful kindergarten school year.
Classes are taught by a certified teacher and a teacher’s assistant. A maximum of 12 children are in each class. On-site physical, speech and occupational therapy is available for an additional fee for children who need services.

Get active and have lots of fun at this full-day, weekly enrichment program for children ages 2-5. Designed to stimulate and engage, programs integrate music and movement, arts and crafts, math, science and even cooking in a centralized them of nature and growing. Choose from six locations conveniently located throughout Central Florida.

Orlando Rep Youth Academy
The Orlando Rep Theatre is partnering with UCP of Central Florida to expand its summer programs to East Orlando. Camps are held at Bailes, convenient to UCF in Central Florida Research Park. Ready, Set …WRITE!!
The summer handwriting camp will be using the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum, which provides a
fun, multisensory way for your child to learn handwriting.
Objectives:
We will be using fine motor activities, hand strengthening exercises, multisensory tools, music and games to
develop pencil grip, body awareness, spatial skills, proper letter formation, letter size and word spacing. These
foundations are essential for children to get “ready and set” to write successfully!

Communication Device Chats
Students will have the opportunity to interact with one another using their specific assistive device in an atmosphere that is friendly and conductive to learning
Objectives:
- Students will make comment pages that are tailored to their own expressions, comments and ideas
- Students will practice answering questions in a conversational environment with peers and friends
- Students will practice navigating through their device answering questions and participating in group discussions
- Students will build confidence in themselves and their device usage

Strengthening Kids' Bodies and Minds
Get your kids off the couch and come participate in an exciting summer enrichment program to strengthen
their bodies and minds. Through stimulating activities focusing on improving handwriting/fine motor
coordination and sensory motor fitness your kids will discover that learning is FUN!

Everyday Etiquette
Manners are the secret to academic, social and professional success. This program is designed to teach children appropriate social skills create an environment where children have the opportunity to work together with their peers in a structured & fun setting under the supervision of a nationally certified speech language clinician. Each day will focus on a targeted goal (e.g. greetings, table manners, taking turns etc.) while incorporating games, stories, songs and crafts. At the end of the week, we will show-off our new manner at a fancy party!

Shakespeare with Heart
Professional Shakespeare actors and directors lead this unique, exciting performance ensemble for middle and high school teens both with and without disabilities. This two-week acting camp culminates in a workshop presentation of a Shakespearean play. This year, there will be two sessions, with both being held at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater.

UCP Excellent Summer Adventure
Designed for children, teens and young adults ages 8-21 with disabilities, this unique program is held at the Loch Haven Park Neighborhood Center (near the Orlando Science Center). Specially-designed activities include arts and crafts, games, field trips, sports and more.
