UCP employs approximately 300 experts including teachers, teacher assistants, physical, occupational and speech therapists, as well as administrative and support staff. Together, our team provides support, education and therapy services for approximately 2,400 children with and without disabilities annually.

Hiring Process
There are several steps to the hiring process at UCP of Central Florida. All applicants must fill out the online application and submit their resume for consideration. Applications are reviewed by the human resources department and evaluated according to the position's minimum requirements. Applicants must meet minimum requirements to be considered for available positions.
Applications from the most qualified applicants are submitted to the hiring department for review and consideration for interviews. The Human Resources Department schedules interviews by telephone during business hours. Unfortunately, due to the number of applications we receive we cannot contact each applicant. Only applicants interviewed are notified when the position has been filled. Should qualified candidates not apply, UCP reserves the right to terminate or extend the posting period on a job at any time.
Certifications and Licensures:
If you are applying for a teacher, therapist, nurse or other specialist position, you are required to provide college transcripts and copies of diplomas, certifications or eligibility statements and/or licenses. For all other positions, you may be required to provide copies of diplomas.
Criminal Records Screening:
After an applicant has been interviewed and extended an official offer from UCP, they must undergo background screening, which includes fingerprinting and a criminal record check. A prior criminal record may or may not result in disqualification from employment with UCP of Central Florida. However, failure to disclose a record on the application will automatically disqualify candidates. Applicants are responsible for the cost for the fingerprinting and criminal record check.
Since UCP is a charter school, the background screening is conducted through the local school district and has the authority to deny employment in the event of a criminal record.
Drug Free Workplace:
UCP of Central Florida is a drug free workplace. After an applicant has been interviewed and extended an official offer from UCP, they are required to pass a test for the detection of controlled substances. Employment will be terminated if controlled substances are found, except where a physician certifies prescribed usage. Applicants are responsible for the cost of the drug test only when administered for employment purposes.
